Summary
Easy Modbus collects nothing, has no account, contains no advertising or
analytics, and sends nothing to any server. Everything it does happens on your
phone and on the local network you connect it to.
What the app stores, and where
Easy Modbus saves the following on your phone, and nowhere else:
- The devices you add — address, port, unit ID and name.
- The register maps you build — addresses, data types, scaling, units
and notes.
- Any custom control screens you create.
- Your choice of Easy or Pro mode.
This data is deliberately excluded from Android cloud backup and from
device-to-device transfer, because a register map names a customer's equipment.
That does mean it does not follow you to a new phone; the CSV export is the way to
move a map.
What leaves the phone
Two things, both only when you ask for them:
- Modbus requests to the equipment you point the app at, on
your local network.
- A CSV export, when you tap Export. The file is written to
the app's cache and handed to whichever app you choose to send it with. Easy
Modbus has no server and does not upload it anywhere.
What the app does not do
- No account, sign-in, or registration.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising.
- No location, contacts, photos, or microphone access.
- No internet use beyond talking to the equipment you point it at.
Permissions
- Internet and network state — to open
TCP connections to Modbus equipment, and to find out which local network the
phone is on so it can be swept.
- Wi-Fi state — to read the local address and subnet.
Children
Easy Modbus is a tool for building and industrial equipment and is not directed
at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
